Tannaz Tabatabaee stands on ‘Russian’ poster

Iranian star-studded feature ‘Russian’ publishes new poster.

Iranian star-studded feature ‘Russian’ has published a new poster foregrounding Tannaz Tabatabaee.

Directed by Amir-Hossein Saghafi, the film is a romantic drama and the director’s fourth directorial experience after ‘Death Is My Trade’, ‘Everything for Sale’ and ‘The Man Who Became a Horse’.

According to a media report, ‘Russian’ enjoys the same ambiance as most films by Saghafi with a slight difference – he has adopted a screenplay with more characters.

Notable among the film cast are Tabatabaee, Amir Aqaee, Saber Abar, Milad Keymaram, and Kamran Tafti.

The movie premiered in the Iranian movie theaters on August 21, 2019.

It held a public screening in the presence of Tabatabaee and the film’s crew at Tehran’s Kourosh Cineplex on Thursday.

Born in 1983, Tabatabaee has a Bachelor's degree in Theater Directing.

Her debut movie was ‘I Saw Your Dad Last Night Aida’ (2004), directed by Rasoul Sadr-Ameli.

Playing a role in the TV series 'The Forbidden Fruit' (2007), she became a well-known actor.

She has appeared in a number of movies, such as ‘Nose’ (2007), ‘The Music Box’ (2007), ‘My Child’ (2008), ‘Parinaz’ (2010), ‘The Orange Suit’ (2011), 'Hush! Girls Don't Scream' (2012), ‘Hard Makeup’ (2013), 'The Resident of the Middle Floor' (2013), 'Crazy Rook' (2014), and 'Death of the Fish' (2014).

Tabatabaee has also taken part in some TV series, including ‘Youth’ (2001), 'In the Eye of the Storm' (2006), 'Open Parenthesis' (2009), and 'Heart of Ice' (2012).

She won the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award from the Celebration of Iran's Cinematic Critics and Writers for ‘Sounds’ in 2009 and the Celebration’s Diploma of Honor for the Best Actress in a Leading Role for ‘Salve’ in 2011.

Tabatabaee was also nominated for the Best actress in a Leading Role award for her appearance in ‘The Sound and the Fury’ (2015) at the 34th Fajr Film Festival.

Her performance in 'Crazy Rook' gave her a nomination for the Best Actress in a Leading role at the 33rd Fajr International Film Festival. Tabatabaee has also received some awards for her appearance in 'Hush! Girls Don't Scream'.
